Desks and space per person

A standard desk is about 140–160 × 70–80 cm. Allow about 100 cm behind the chair so people can stand up and pass. Rules on minimum space per person differ by country, so check yours before deciding on the number of desks.

Zones

  • Desks near the windows.
  • A meeting room or meeting table near the entrance, so visitors do not cross the desk area.
  • A break area with a sink and fridge, away from the quiet zone.

Working from home

In a spare room, face the desk towards or beside the window, not with the window behind the screen. A corner desk gives more surface in a small space.

Questions

How many desks fit in my office?

Draw the room, add desks with about 100 cm behind each chair and a 90–120 cm main aisle, and see how many fit. The estimates panel shows the floor area.

Can I plan a meeting room?

Yes, there is a meeting table and chairs in the library; leave about 100 cm between the table and the walls for chairs.
