About this layout
The living room opens onto a deck terrace through a wide door, with a table and a barbecue where they are easy to reach from the kitchen. The lawn beyond is kept clear in the middle for play, with a tree and a lounger at the edges.
A paved path runs from the gate straight to the front door, a hedge gives privacy along one side, and the shed and raised bed sit at the far end where they are out of the way but easy to get to.
Before you copy it
- Check where the sun is before placing the terrace: the north arrow shows which way the garden faces.
- Leave about 1 m around a shed door and 60–80 cm between raised beds to kneel and use a wheelbarrow.
